AGH! I'm trying to keep up with my blogging, really I am- but it has been so busy. I feel like I've been saying that repeatedly this summer- it's just busy busy busy, but it's true. Being a full time photographer in Wisconsin is tricky- things don't get spread out through out the year like they do in other areas of the country. In Wisconsin you have such a short period of time for wedding season, senior portrait season and any other outdoor shoot requests. It's makes things a little wacky!!!!! SO- I thank ya'll for being so patient with my lack of blogging skills lately :D

Last weekend I photographed one of my all-time favorite couples wedding day. Colin and Becky are two people that I truly admire and completely adore. They are honest and funny and so so so genuine- it was an honor to photograph their wedding day and just to be a part of everything. It was so hard narrowing down the images for the preview- seriously- I wanted to show like 200 of them, but I had to be choosy!!!!

I just love these guys!

They chose to do a first look/reveal prior to their ceremony. It was so nice!! I love it when couples go that route...then they can really take the time to breathe a little and see one another.

These guys were all a riot!!!!!

and of course the gorgeous girls!!! Everyone in the wedding party was super nice and really mellow- it was a great day!

Last week I photographed these two adorable twinsie two year olds. I've photographed them before and I have to say that it is probably what I love most about my "job". I love being able to see little ones grow into themselves...talking in full sentences and communicating and being funny. It was so sweet- Sadie and Gavin are just such great kiddos and so cute!!!!.

Today I photographed 2 adorable little guys. Evan will be turning 4 in a few months and little Isaac will be the big ONE tomorrow! These two were seriously perfect and smiley and so stinkin' sweet. Ah, what I would give to have another boy...but that would mean having another baby and I'm just not sure if I'm up to doing that again ;) I'll stick to borrowing the sweet babes!!

I swear, he only looked at me with this expression for like two seconds, but I thought mom would get a kick out of it...so serious. This has got to be a face that is handed down- so perfect!

The second day of our love filled weekend was Saturdays wedding with Sam and Ole- and family and friends. Their day was all about their love for each other and their love and appreciation for their family and friends. Their ceremony and reception was at the Woodwalk Gallery. It was really unique to them- Ole's Uncle performed the ceremony. It was a perfect, beautiful day!!

The tables were set up so cool- Ole and Sam had each table listed as a special place where they/one of them/thier family had visited. A place that held special meaning to them.

Ole's dad built her a swing up at Woodwalk, the week before the wedding!

and the ceremony-

Now, during the sermon, Ole's Uncle was talking about how strong their love was for one another and how that strength would become their bond even more so, as their years together went on. He then compared it to duct tape- which was awesome! Then he shared some duct tape with the guests- it was great- lots of good catchers out there!!!

From there it was just fun all around. The guests played yard games, visited, ate a fabulous dinner and then enjoyed some dancing time, with a live band!!

Ole and Sam had the coolest wedding bands I've ever seen- Josh agreed with me, so it must be true!

My second shoot on Sunday was with Dan and Mandy. They are THE cutest couple- seriously! Mandy is just so easy to talk to. When she came in for her consult with me, I think we talked for like 2 hours or something. I love that. Both her and Dan had a few spots they really wanted to go to- which was great...we went to some really cool locations that I had not been to before. I'll definitely be going back :)

LOVED this barn....on the property of Simon Creek Winery. This place has very quickly become a favorite location. The staff was super friendly!

Then we headed out to Whitefish Dunes and Cave Point, along Lake Michigan. I haven't been there in years!

To end the day we headed back near Green Bay and stopped off at Bay Shore Park for a bit of the sun coming down...

and for a bit of play time in the water!!

What a wild weekend- 2 amazing shoots in one of my very favorite places....Door County!! Luckily the weather cooperated. I was getting worried...you never know in Wisconsin- one day it's 80, the next its in the low 50's!!! Craziness!

My first shoot was with a fantastically awesome couple- Courtney and Matt. I really adore these two- and their super cute dog, Riley. It was just such a funny, mellow shoot. Perfect perfect day :)

We started off at one of my favorite spots, that incorporates decades of love....Anderson Dock. Families and lovers come to this location to leave their mark.

It's so nice finally being able to shoot out in the sun!!!!! YAY!!

Little Mr. Owen was such a spunky little dude this afternoon- he gave a bit of a fight falling asleep, but once he was out- he was out!!! He was SO completely perfect. It was lovely having a little newborn here for me to snuggle and smell...I know that sounds kind of creepy- but seriously- that little newborn baby smell is the most amazing thing. Reminds me of when my babes were itty bitty- such a long time ago!!

I know, it's been a long time since I last blogged. It's not that I'm not busy, it's just that life has kind of taken over. I'm doing a fitness challenge, taking care of my beautiful family, and running a business, so sometimes it becomes hard to choose which to do first and which to leave on the back burner. Blogging has obviously been pushed to the back burner- BUT I promise that is changing. I have a bunch of great sessions coming up in the next few weeks- fabulous engagement sessions, senior portraits, and family pics, can't wait!!!! I'd been going a little stir crazy this winter, so I am thrilled to be shooting outside. Mimmy is definitely my little "picture girl". She loves the attention and the dressing up and all that fun- and she never disappoints!! Today we went shopping for some shoes and ended up with a few extra things....having a girl is dangerous!!!!!! We did get shoes too though ;) Then we had a little fashion show. She has been coming to the studio with me every now and then to "help" with little projects. It's always an adventure with her...she is a very determined little person!! Although she did inform me today that she is done being sassy and will no longer be throwing fits. HA! We shall see....

This afternoon I did a "Save the Date" photoshoot with Courtney and Matt. It was freezing outside, and even started snowing...which was quite lovely. I don't think Matt minded having to keep Courtney warm...I think he kind of likes her :)

Green Bay Wedding Photographer : Brea & Tyler engagement pictures!!!

Last weekend I went to Madison to photograph Brea & Tyler's engagement pictures. These two are seriously cute- and funny and completely loveable. I am already so excited for their 2011 October wedding. They also brought their dog along- the poor little peanut...it was so cold out, so we just did a few pictures with her and then let her go snuggle in the heated vehicle with Brea's mom and sister, who were along for the shoot. We started our shoot at the Capital and then we headed to Tenney Park for some ice skating- it was cold, but the snow and the sunlight was so perfect!!!!

Yesterday I photographed the ever adorable Gabby. Gabby is one of my favorite kiddos to photograph- she loves having her picture taken!!! I also photographed her little brother, Vincent. My shoot with Will today was wonderful, he is such a smart little guy and very curious. 2 is a wonderful age- every minute their wheels are turning and their legs are running. Luckily Miss Mouse was able to tickle Will and sneak out some great smiles. Such a handsome little man. AND I met his brand new little sister today too- Elizabeth is such a little peanut. Our last wedding of the year and our first wedding of the year- love it ;) NYE wedding!!!!!! It was white and wintery 24 hours prior to Nikki and Grant's NYE wedding- but mother nature had other intentions for their big day. It was warm- as warm as January can be! The snow mostly melted and the sky had a thick hovering fog. It was just crazy, crazy and fabulous! Enjoy a peek at their day- the candle lit service, the navy blue and silver details...the Christmas tree....the midnight balloon drop. I love this time of year and was so excited to photograph their wedding!

Little Olivia is 1!!!! So hard to believe.... time really does go by so quickly and so much happens in one year. I have photographed Olivia and her family from before her birth, when she was a tiny little peanut in her mommys tummy. Continuing on from the post prior to this one- is one of my other favorite fams- the Heath crew!!! I just love this little family. I photographed Ashley and Chad's wedding last summer...when I met them we clicked immediately! It was a perfect day and I'm so happy that they have stayed in touch. Their kids are a RIOT!!!

2 of my favorite families came to see me for holiday pictures- I just love this crew of people. First- is Briana and Seth and Zoe!!! Briana is the stylist that does all of the make up and hair for my modeling and senior class shoots. She is always rockin' some amazing shoes- we have a great time together!!!! I actually really miss her now that the senior season has slowed down. *Sigh*

Last week I photographed Gina and Gary for their engagement pictures- we started out with a few family pictures- their girls are gorgeous!!!! It was too funny, Gina's sister was along to make the girls laugh...I might have been laughing more than the kids were- it was pretty funny!!!

Last Saturday was my other mini session day of the season- the weather could not have been more horrible- it was so yucky and rainy out. BLAH!! But I still managed to get in a few of my mini session clients.

My first little crew was this adorable family:

Little Porter is such a cutie- a teensy bit shy at first, but what a grin!!!!

My next family was a group of 4 kiddos!! It was a fun session- sometimes it's crummy to be indoors, but it really worked out great!!! Take a peek at a few of their images:

17 yr old twins- who are gorgeous- I'll be doing their senior sessions next summer- so keep a look out for their pics!

AND last of my day- 3 lovely sisters!!! These girls were a blast! They had great style and their youngest sister was just such a cute peanut. Full of spunk- I love it!!!!

Green Bay wedding : Engagement Photographer : Becky and Colin!!!!!!!

All you need is love....and these two have a lot of it. It's easy to see!!!! My shoot with Becky and Colin was easy peasy- they are so comfortable with one another- and with me. I can't wait for their wedding next summer. They are both St. Norbert College grads- Becky now works there. They will also be married there!!!! Yay!!!

So first I am going to point out that there are a lot of my family members not include in this set of pics- I come from a family of 8 kids- so there are a ton of us.....not easy to get us all in one place unless you have great food and some drinks....like Kool-Aid or something stronger;) On Saturday I photographed a bunch of people and then ended my day photographing my sister Betsy and her family, and my sister Emily's kids. I also then tried to photograph my own children.

Ooooooooh yes- Mini Session Madness is here!!!!! I had my first full day of mini sessions this past Saturday- it was wild and awesome and completely fabulous..the weather, the people, I couldn't have asked for better. Thanks everyone for such a great day!

A few from my first crew of 4- little Miss Lilly tried her darndest to keep her smile from me, but I am so used to 3 yr old diva's- for real, I know what's up!!

My next session was with Tevyn- for his 18month pics. He wasn't very happy with me when we first started out, but then with a little flirting and some snacks, he warmed right up!!!

Next came "The Alaskans", as they are jokingly called around our house :) Terry and Rebekah are family from Alaska that just happened to be home visiting- it worked out perfectly! Their little peanut, Alma, is just the sweetest and most mild natured baby. She didn't give me any huge gummy smiles, but she was just perfect anyway- her eyes did the smiling for her!

Then little Malia arrived. Now I have photographed Malia since she was a tiny little newborn. She is one beautiful beautiful girl- it has been so much fun to watch her grow through the different stages. Now here she is as a big old one year old!!

Ethan and family were my next photo shoot and I have to admit that I am really quite smitten with Ethan. He is SO stinkin' handsome!! I mean really, who could not LOVE this face??!!!!!

The last two sessions of my evening (before I completely ended the day with pics of my family, including some of my adorable nieces- which I will post later) were with a crew of people that I do completely consider family. I just love these guys. That's all I can say. I love them. I love their kids, I loves how unselfish they are- all the time. They make me want to be a better person- however that does not mean I will start baking. You can thank me now. Really- they brought me baked goods- yummy cookies and banana bread and a gift card and WINE!!!! YUm YUm YUM!! Thanks so much Sitzman-Mic-Smith's, I love you all. Even the Shanes'. ;)

A few days ago I photographed The Morales family- it was such a nice night for pictures! Alayna was such a good girl for her pictures- super sweet and full of smiles!!! It was a wonderful shoot!

I haven't used my studio light for a little person before and Alayna was the perfect model for me!!!

So- I'm not going to lie- being a photographer can sometimes be challenging. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Alayna since I took her mommy's maternity pics in August. Alayna is such a little beauty- perfect curly hair, little rolls, and sweet sweet cheeks. Completely adorable! BUT she had a little bit of a rough picture day. Her tummy was a little gassy and she just couldn't get comfy. She definitely took charge of the session right away- letting us know what she would do and what she totally would not do. Kind of stubborn- mom says it dad's fault, dad says it's mom's fault- it was pretty funny! She might have spit up a few times- on mommy- on daddy- on me. Adorable little Diva!!!

Last week was filled with so many different photo shoots. I photographed newborns, senior class pictures, family photos, head shots- a little bit of everything! That is why I love being a photographer- every day is something new and brings with it little moments that are irreplaceable. There is nothing quite like it in the whole world. Especially when photographing newborns:)

Little Miss Addy was one of my photo shoots from last week. She is just a few weeks old and is sooooo incredibly precious. I love babies- their soft hair, tiny hands and feet, little sleepy eyes!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Dana and her Mom. My husband and my little rascal child- Mimmy, were hanging out at the studio getting a few errands done for me. Mimmy and Dana's mom really hit it off. I think Mims was so sad when it was time for her to leave...she gave Dana's mom a huge hug and even a kiss!! Such a love bug!!! They played side walk chalk together and drew pictures...it was pretty darn cute :)

Now- enough about MY child- on to Dana's pictures!!!! Dana is beautiful...and so sweet! She is just a simple, mellow chick. I loved her outfits, especially the gorgeous cream dress she had a long. So pretty!!

So- I know this is kind of a "controversial" topic- music on websites. I absolutely love it, but can understand people who don't. If they are already listening to their own music and then they open up to a site that is also playing music, it can be a serious annoyance. I guess what I'm trying to say is- sorry but I'm keeping my tuneage! To celebrate this occasion I am announcing the music for my new wedding website. My blog (which is where you are right now ;)) has a slew of different artists that I love, my normal portrait site plays a song from Victoria Vox and my new wedding site will feature a song from the duo, Eddie and AJ. Green Bay Newborn Photographer : Olive Pearl!

Little Olive was born a few weeks ago- to a lovely couple- Denise and Brian. I remember 9 or so months ago when I ran in to Brian and Denise at Caliente and asked them my token question- "when are you two going to finally have a baby"? I was expecting the normal eye roll and small chat, but Denise and Brian turned bright red- they were blushing and smiling secretively. SO of course I knew immediately that they were expecting. I was the very first person to know- simply because they are both so bad at fibbing! They had literally, that afternoon, found out they were expecting their first baby!!

Now that Olive Pearl has arrived, it is plain to see they were meant to be parents. They are just so sweet with her, it's completely adorable!

Here she is- pictured with her momma for some....BUT don't worry Brian, I will get you in some pictures very soon...just not that day. Brian was covered with oil and grease from the dismantling of his VW Van (which I also hope in the future to take a family picture of them with that VW Van).

What a great weekend I had- a wedding, newborn pictures, a boudoir shoot- it was crazy! I started off my weekend photographing Lindsay and Chris's wedding on Friday. It was a beautiful, sunny day! Lindsay and Chris are two super cool cats...completely relaxed and SO SO sweet. I completely adore them both. Their wedding was so fun to photograph- I loved meeting all their friends and fam. It's easy to see these two people were meant for each-other. I love that feeling- like I know I'm part of something big- something that is just beginning. It's pretty awesome. That's why I love photographing weddings....well that and the cake ;)

Gray skies, smiling at me- nothing but gray skies.... that's what we had today for WErin's senior pictures, and they turned out just fabulous. It's nice shooting in gray weather!!! It always freaks me out a bit with the rain looming overhead, but no rain came tonight. Erin's pictures turned out fabulous- check out her gorgeous brown eyes!!!

I'm excited to announce that my wedding photography website is finally up and running- it only took me almost a year to finish. I still have to fine tune a few things- like adding my about me page, adding music, etc. Speaking of music- I will be using a song from a few local music dudes. I'll announce who they are once I have the song up!!

Here is a shot of the front screen of my wedding site..simple, very simple, I think it's nice :)

ON Friday afternoon I photographed the most adorable set of 3 yr old twins. Kailey and Colby were SO well behaved- that little Kailey is hilarious!!! I loved taking their pictures...especially at The Botanical Garden, it was the perfect day- gorgeous weather+ cute, happy kiddos = happy me!!!!

Yesterday I photographed Kai's senior pictures. When Kai came in we started talking about outfits and posing and all good things. She was a tiny bit nervous- saying she didn't photograph very well and was really awkward with posing. I love awkward- but Kai was only a little awkward-she was actually quite marvelous to photograph. She has the most beautiful features! I absolutely adored working with her...and her friend Kelly, and her little sister. They were a riot. Her sister is Hilarious!!!!

This morning I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the Bay family. 3 little ladies under the age of 6 (almost 6 ;))..Mom and Dad. I could not believe how wonderfully their girls behaved. Especially the two older girls- the youngest was very interested in the grass and the dirt and the flowers and all the weird noises and people around. The older girls had to be so very patient and they were!!! I was VERY impressed!!!!!

This morning I photographed the most adorable children- Ruby and Miles!!! Ruby was SO well behaved- she held onto MIles and smiled and was an angel. Then she let loose a little and showed her true two yr old colors!!! It was perfect- she had a blast running around, checking things out, playing dress up with the tutu, smelling the daisies.. yanking a few daisies out of the ground. She was a riot! Miles was really chill the whole time...like really chill. He was very interested in everything around him on the ground- especially when we were outside. I think he thought the grass and the wood-chips were reaaal cool!!

Green Bay, Chicago, Wedding Photographer : Aleks and Scott's fabulous wedding!

I am not a good story teller- I pretty much suck at it. So how do I possibly convey how amazing Aleks and Scott's wedding was....? It wasn't just a wedding. It was a celebration- a celebration of family, of tradition and of LOVE. It was a day where every moment counted, every moment mattered. Every detail had a special touch. Every person was someone special. I have never experienced anything like their day before...ever.

The fabulously talented Taylor Wilson (seen here) created Aleksandra's dress, as well as the bridesmaids gowns.

The signing of the Ketubah! This is the Jewish marriage contract that will hang in their home for the rest of their lives. It was so beautiful, and so them!

The wedding begins!!!

{My husband Josh was also shooting with us and took the black and white pictures from the side balcony...I just wanted to give him a shout out, because I love the angle he got}

The Chuppah!- (Aleks explained the significance of this to me) The Chuppah represents the couples first home as a married couple. It is a bit flimsy, the décor is pretty plain, but inside is an atmosphere of love, brightness
and warmth. The Chuppah serves as a model for all the homes they will build in
their future together. What makes a home happy is not the walls or the decorations,
but what fills it. Better a tent full of love than a three story mansion without it. The
Chuppah is open on all sides, just as Abraham and Sarah had their tent open on all
sides to welcome people in unconditional hospitality. The custom is to have the
Chuppah outside under the stars, as a sign of the blessing given by G-d to Abraham,
that his children shall be as the stars of the heavens.

The Reception was held inside at The Prairie Production. It was a fabulous space!!

Loved the table decor and the favors were perfect...you'll see a shot of what was inside the brown ouch in just a bit ;)

They also had THE best DJ ever. Ever. I mean it, she kicked ass!!

Aaand that's when the party reached a whole new level of crazy awesomeness! The couple danced the Hora!

I have never seen people dance like that before- with SO much complete JOY...it was a sight, it was beautiful.

It was a black tie wedding, with a bar-b-que style dinner. It was a huge hit! The food was fun and soooo yummy!!!

A few weeks ago I photographed DeJay and Lacey's gorgeous wedding. I have been so busy with senior pictures and other shoots, that I didn't get to post a little preview of their wedding. To make up for it, I am posting now- a huge preview!! So sit back and enjoy a peek at their lovely day!!!

We began the day at Lacey's parents house, which I completely adore! Their house just feels like home....it's so full of love and comfort. It was the perfect place to begin.

On a gloriously sunny morning, I met lovely Miss Emily out at her Grandparents house. I love doing pictures for people in locations that are sentimental to them. Her grandparents house was so warm and inviting...I didn't want to leave!!!!!! I'm fairly certain I'll find my way back there again, it was so wonderful!!! WE then headed out to the big city- PULASKI! Hehehehe...ok, not so much a big city- but Pulaski had so many cool areas for us to use. I think the little city is highly under appreciated!

Green Bay senior portrait Photographer: The lovely Whitney!!!

A few days ago I met and photographed Whitney for her senior pictures. Not only is Whitney gorgeous- she is SO sweet!!!! I also hear she is a pretty talented little lady- her high school (Preble) will be doing "White Christmas" as their musical production and Whitney is one of the leads!!!!! I might just have to go to that show, "White Christmas" in one of my very favorite movies :)
